Kitt Lazar and the Zodiac

During a routine clearance of Yam Towers’ constantly-growing cornucopia of stuff, staff discovered a previously unnoticed VHS tape. Left to prop up the leg of a poker table in the Yam Towers office, the tape bore no markings or distinguishing features of any kind. It was assumed to be blank, until several reels of film, VHS tapes and DVDs were uncovered in an adjacent stationary cupboard, each bearing the title ‘Kitt Lazar and the Zodiac’. Upon inspection, each of these were blank, corrupted, damaged, or otherwise unplayable. Only the original VHS tape, shown here, remains viewable.

Despite allegedly being filmed at or around Yam Towers, there is no hard evidence to suggest the show ever existed. The most compelling evidence comes from the production diary of Sean Morelli, the show’s alleged creator, which were uncovered in a disused furnace in the sub-basement of Yam Towers. Most of the notes have been lost to heavy flooding during the installation of the Yam Towers swimming pool, but what little we know of the show comes from these diaries.

Kitt Lazar and the Zodiac was a low budget science-fiction show produced by SPPS Productions and, apparently, aired on television sometime in the last 50 years. The exact year of its creation, or it’s original release, remain lost. The show’s strange blend of anachronistic special effects offer no real clues.

The show itself centred on the adventures of intergalactic swashbuckler and privateer Kitt Lazar (played by Trent Burton), his ship the ‘Zodiac’, and their battle against the villainous, suspiciously vegetable-like alien Scroggs.

Only one season is believed to have been produced. Difficulties with the network’s Ugandan financiers caused endless production delays, and Trent Burton himself disappeared shortly after filming concluded, allegedly under investigation for being the famed Zodiac killer. All attempts to contact the remaining cast have failed. Contact numbers for the cast and crew, detailed in Morelli’s diaries, only yields the sound of faint sobbing.

All episodes of the show, except for the test tape uncovered at Yam Towers, are believed to have been lost in a mysterious warehouse fire almost immediately after the show finished its initial TV run.

Experts suspect ghosts to be responsible.
